Greenberg Traurig’s Sharon Katz-Pearlman Elected as A Fellow of the American College of Tax Counsel

NEW YORK – Nov. 16, 2022 – Sharon Katz-Pearlman, a shareholder in global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP’s New York Tax Practice, was elected as a Fellow of the American College of Tax Counsel by its Board of Regents at their Oct. 14 meeting. The College is one of the premier legal associations in America and fellows are selected for their excellence in and contributions to the field of tax law.

The American College of Tax Counsel comprises 700 fellows who are nominated by current fellows and chosen by the counsel’s board of regents. Demonstration of excellence in the field and ethical conduct is required to be a fellow, which is shown through involvement with taxation committees or bar associations, as well as legal writing, teaching, or holding tax administration-related office.

The fellows are tax attorneys in private firms or in-house legal departments, in academia, in federal or state government, or on the judicial bench. A Board of Regents governs the organization with one representative from each federal judicial circuit plus two at large positions.

Katz-Pearlman focuses her practice on the representation of large multinationals, partnerships, and other taxpayers, before the IRS, representing clients from the pre-exam phase (voluntary disclosures; pre-filing agreements) through examination, appeals, and into litigation if necessary. Much of her work involves the resolution of cross-border transfer pricing matters (Competent Authority) as well as advising multinationals on how to navigate today’s challenging global tax disputes landscape.
