Greenberg Traurig Washington, D.C., Broadens Life Sciences, Complex Litigation Capabilities with Addition of Jonathan Janow

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Oct. 8, 2026 – Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP has expanded its complex litigation, life sciences, and antitrust capabilities with the addition of Jonathan D. Janow as a shareholder in its Litigation Practice in the Washington, D.C., office. Janow, who joins from Steptoe, represents pharmaceutical and life sciences companies in antitrust, class action, trade secret, and other complex commercial disputes in federal and state courts nationwide.

Janow’s addition continues a period of strategic growth for Greenberg Traurig’s Washington, D.C., office. In recent months, the office has welcomed prominent attorneys and government professionals across the Health Care & FDA; Real Estate; Government Law & Policy; National Security; International Trade; Defense, Aviation & Space; and Regulatory & Compliance practices.

“Welcoming Jonathan, who combines impressive courtroom experience in complex litigation with significant representations in the life sciences and antitrust areas, helps Greenberg Traurig meet strong client demand for sophisticated legal counsel who can assist with the increased regulatory and litigation challenges clients face,” said Ernest LaMont Greer, Greenberg Traurig co-president and Washington, D.C., office chairman. “As we strategically enhance our capabilities in Washington, D.C., we are continually focused on having the highest-quality legal talent with the foresight and skill businesses require to navigate growth.”

For decades, Janow has represented a roster that includes generic and branded drug manufacturers, distributors, retailers, and industry associations. These include defending their interests in nationwide antitrust class actions brought by direct and indirect purchasers, product liability and consumer protection class actions, trade secret and breach of contract litigation, and constitutional challenges to state drug pricing regulations.

“Jonathan is an outstanding addition to our team. His decades of experience representing a wide range of companies in highly complex litigation deepens our bench of exceptionally talented trial attorneys,” said Tonya M. Esposito, administrative shareholder of Greenberg Traurig’s Washington, D.C., office and co-chair of the Antitrust & Competition Practice. “Clients will benefit particularly from his rare command of the legal and commercial issues facing life sciences companies and practical approach to litigating antitrust issues.”

Beyond the courtroom, Janow helps clients identify antitrust, regulatory, and consumer protection risks before they lead to litigation and manages costs and exposure when disputes arise. He also works with life sciences companies to protect patents and trade secrets involving innovations developed using artificial intelligence.

“Having known Greenberg Traurig litigators for years and being aware of the practice’s reputation for depth and breadth of legal experience, I am very excited to now join them, offering my clients the benefits of a full-service, global law firm with an unmatched geographic presence and subject-matter expert platform,” Janow said. “These attributes are essential to serving companies whose complexity and growth require exceptional and holistic legal counsel.”

Janow, who has a strong commitment to pro bono service, earned his J.D., with highest honors, from The George Washington University Law School and his B.A., magna cum laude, in government and politics from the University of Maryland.
