Greenberg Traurig Elevates Two Attorneys in Boston Office

BOSTON – March 27, 2024 – Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP elevated Charles W. Azano and David C. Fixler to shareholders in the firm’s Boston office.

Firmwide, Greenberg Traurig announced the elevation of 60 attorneys to shareholder and of counsel. In addition, the firm reported a historic $2.3 billion in revenue for FY 2023, a 6% increase over the previous year and the 10th consecutive year of record revenue.

Azano is a member of the Restructuring & Bankruptcy Practice and the Distressed High Yield Bond Workout Group. An experienced bankruptcy and restructuring attorney, he maintains a national, commercial restructuring practice. Azano represents parties in all areas of bankruptcy, receiverships, and out-of-court workouts, most commonly representing indenture trustees, noteholders, and institutional investors holding tax-exempt municipal bonds. He works in a broad array of sectors, including energy, hospitality, higher education, housing, manufacturing, and, most-commonly, senior living, frequently working in cases involving continuing care retirement communities and assisted living facilities.

As a member of the firm’s Energy & Natural Resources Practice, Fixler focuses on assisting energy companies with navigating the complex regulatory landscape that, together with sweeping technological changes, is changing the manner in which electricity is generated, distributed, sold, managed, stored, and consumed in the United States. He has wide-ranging experience representing developers of renewable and traditional energy facilities in permitting, siting, interconnection, zoning, property tax, and other matters in front of regulatory agencies and courts. Fixler’s multidisciplinary skill set allows him to quickly identify potential legal concerns and design strategies that address these problems before they arise, helping clients to avoid costly disputes in the future.
