EB-5 Investor Program Reform

After months of speculation about potential updates for the EB-5 immigrant investor program, Congress simply opted to extend its regional center component until Sept. 30, 2016, as part of the omnibus bill.

"Modernizing the PERM process is needed and hopefully will be implemented in a sensible and reasonable manner," said Ian R. Macdonald of Greenberg Traurig LLP. "The aspects of the PERM process are outdated and out of sync with the manner in which employers recruit today."
