Greenberg Traurig Advises Expansion, Balnord, and Tech Horizons on ATMOS Space Cargo’s Series A Financing Round

BERLIN and FRANKFURT – June 23, 2026 – Global law firm Greenberg Traurig advised investors Expansion, Balnord, and Tech Horizons on ATMOS Space Cargo's (ATMOS) Series A financing round, raising a total of €25.7 million.

The financing round was co-led by Expansion and Balnord, and included Tech Horizons, as well as Keen Defence and Security, the European Innovation Council (EIC) as part of its Accelerator Program, and other international venture capital investors.

ATMOS is a European space company developing orbital transport and controlled returns of payloads from low Earth orbit. The company is developing its PHOENIX platform, which is designed to enable the autonomous and precise return of payloads to Earth that have applications in research, industry, and government- and security-related programs. With the fresh capital, ATMOS plans to expand its operational capabilities and further develop the next generation of vehicles.

Expansion, Balnord, and Tech Horizons are European venture capital investors focusing on deep tech, frontier, and dual-use technologies. Tech Horizons is the corporate venture capital arm of the defence group Czechoslovak Group, which has been listed on the Amsterdam stock exchange since January. Expansion, headquartered in France, is funded by the European Investment Fund and the French investment firm Audacia, among others, while Balnord is a dual-use and frontier tech investor focused on the Baltic Sea region and Northern Europe. Together, they invest in technology-driven companies with strategic relevance in sectors such as aerospace, defense, industrial technologies, resilience, and security, supporting them from early development phases to later growth stages.

Greenberg Traurig advised the three investors on all legal aspects of their investments in the round, including legal due diligence, the negotiation and drafting of investment and shareholder documents, and notarization.

Background:
This financing round marks the first time Greenberg Traurig advised Expansion, Balnord, and Tech Horizons. Previously, the Greenberg Traurig team, led by Berlin Local Partner Natalie Hsiao, provided legal support to investor OTB Ventures in connection with seed financing.
