Mary C. McKinley

Mary C. McKinley is a litigation attorney with deep experience in private practice and public service. She advises clients on complex discovery and document review matters, developing practical and defensible strategies informed by sound litigation judgment and the effective use of advanced review technologies and workflows.

Mary has led document review teams in complex business litigation, including residential mortgage-backed securities matters, as well as intellectual property, antitrust, and insurance disputes. Her practice includes designing and implementing efficient review processes, managing large-scale discovery obligations, and assisting clients in meeting litigation deadlines and budget expectations while maintaining quality and defensibility. Drawing on her public-sector experience, Mary brings a practical understanding of how regulators and government entities approach litigation, enabling her to identify issues early and guide clients through discovery with care and precision.

Prior to entering private practice, Mary served for more than a decade as an assistant attorney general in the Minnesota Attorney General’s Office, where she represented the Minnesota Commissioner of Public Safety in civil litigation and advocated on behalf of residential utility consumers before the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission. Her experience also includes federal and state court clerkships, which contribute to her understanding of the procedural, evidentiary, and practical considerations that influence litigation from commencement through resolution.
