Francesco Horvat focuses his practice on restructuring and insolvency matters, debt restructurings and turnarounds processes, distressed acquisitions and sales, and litigation.

He advises Italian and international companies on a variety of legal issues concerning their day-to-day activity, on corporate and commercial law as well as on insolvency proceedings and crisis management.

During his career he handled several disputes relating to various aspects of civil law, commercial law, corporate law, and bankruptcy law.

  • Legal assistance in favor of an Italian company operating in the pharmaceutical industry on an arrangement with creditors and on negotiations with third parties for the purposes of the sale of a branch of business in the context of said insolvency proceeding.°
  • Legal assistance in favor of a steel mill on an arrangement with creditors.°
  • Legal assistance in favor of an investment company in connection with a distressed business acquisition of a major fashion company.°
  • Legal assistance in favor of an investment company in connection with assets acquisition of a real estate company in distress. °
  • Legal assistance in favor of a real estate company in the preparation of the application pursuant to art. 161, paragraph 6, of the Italian Bankruptcy Law and in the negotiation of a debt restructuring agreement pursuant to Article 182-bis of the Italian Bankruptcy Law.°
  • Represented numerous receivers and other parties-in-interest in ancillary proceedings and credit enforcement engagements.°
  • Legal due diligence on an Italian company operating in the aerospace industry in order to assess and identify the main legal risks attached to the business of such company.°
