Greenberg Traurig Adds Christopher Thorne in Denver

DENVER – Oct. 23, 2019—Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP added Christopher Thorne in Denver as of counsel in the Energy & Natural Resources, Real Estate, and Environmental practices. Thorne, who joins the firm from Holland & Hart, and previously practiced with Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, has more than two decades of experience in Western water law.

Thorne represents energy companies, real estate developers, industrial water users, municipal water providers, and agricultural water users in all types of water related transactions, and in water court litigation and related administrative proceedings involving the adjudication of water rights, changes of water rights, complex plans for augmentation, and water rights disputes. Thorne’s transactional experience includes project development and permitting for companies developing water supplies for new projects such as power generation facilities, wind turbine projects, solar energy projects, and oil and natural gas production and pipeline facilities. 

Thorne earned his J.D. from University of Colorado School of Law and a B.A. from Colorado College.
