Kaitlyn R. Maxwell focuses her practice on environmental regulatory compliance and litigation, advising clients on complex issues concerning chemicals in products and the environment. With more than a decade of environmental law experience, she brings a practical, litigation-informed perspective to both regulatory counseling and high-stakes disputes.
Kaitlyn’s litigation experience extends across a broad array of complex environmental matters, including Superfund cost recovery and contribution claims, natural resource damage actions, toxic tort litigation, and product liability defense. Her regulatory practice encompasses a wide range of federal and state environmental programs, including the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA), the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA), the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA), and the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA). Her pesticide practice includes counseling on complex pesticide registrations and negotiating and litigating data compensation claims under FIFRA.
Kaitlyn also advises clients on the rapidly evolving landscape of state laws governing per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in products and the environment, including navigating state product reporting and labeling requirements and product bans on intentionally added PFAS. Her PFAS experience includes defending clients in product liability litigation, advising site owners on environmental remediation, and counseling clients on permitting matters related to industrial discharges and stormwater.

- Represented defendant and counterclaim plaintiff in Superfund allocation case for the Lower Fox River and Green Bay Superfund Site.
- Represented pesticide manufacturer in litigation over selection of RCRA corrective action for arsenic in soils.
