The International Law Section (ILS) of the ABA will host the 2024 ILS Annual Conference May 7-10 at the Grand Hyatt in Washington, D.C. The theme of this year’s event is The Power & Progress of International Law," and the event will bring together industry professionals to network, learn, and engage with hundreds of international attorneys from distinguished law firms, private organizations, and governmental institutions worldwide.
Greenberg Traurig Shareholder Michael Burshteyn will be a speaker during the session, “Smart Contracts and CISG: Perks and Pitfalls in the World of International Trade and Finance,” on May 10. Smart contracts will lead to enhanced efficiency, reduction of risk, and promotion of trust while reducing disputes. This session will discuss outcomes, lessons learned, and best practices when using smart contracts. The panel will also consider the potential for smart contracts to revolutionize international trade under the CISG, as well as evaluate legal, technical, and operational challenges.
