Greenberg Traurig Advises KULR Technology Group on Investment in German Bionic Systems

BERLIN, July 04, 2025 – Greenberg Traurig Germany advised KULR Technology Group, Inc., a leading U.S.-based innovator in advanced energy management and storage solutions for the aerospace and defense industries, on its strategic investment in German Bionic Systems GmbH. German Bionic Systems, an internationally active robotics company headquartered in Germany with subsidiaries in Japan and the United States, is renowned for its development of exoskeleton technologies. These innovative wearable robotics assist employees in physically demanding industries such as logistics, healthcare, and aviation.

As part of the transaction, Greenberg Traurig advised the client in both the notarization of the investment and the simultaneous negotiation and execution of an exclusive distribution agreement. This agreement grants KULR exclusive rights to market and distribute German Bionic System’s advanced exoskeleton technologies across the North American market.

The strategic investment represents a significant milestone for KULR, enabling the company to expand into the wearable robotics sector. By leveraging its expertise in energy systems, KULR is establishing a new business unit, “KULR AI & Robotics”, which will focus on integrating energy management, robotics, and artificial intelligence to drive innovation in industrial and healthcare applications.

Greenberg Traurig advised on all aspects of the investment and distribution agreement, including legal due diligence, analysis of the intellectual property and distribution structure, and the drafting and negotiating of all transaction documentation, which had to be finalized under tight time constraints to ensure the seamless execution of the deal.

Background:

This transaction marks a new chapter in the collaboration between Greenberg Traurig and KULR. While KULR has long been a client of Greenberg Traurig’s U.S. offices, this engagement represents the first time that the Berlin office of the global law firm has advised the company on legal matters in Germany.
