Philip Meinel is an associate in the IP & Technology practice group. His advisory practice focuses on copyright and media law as well as intellectual property law. In this field, he advises German and international clients in the film and entertainment industry, as well as technology companies. He provides comprehensive support to clients on all matters related to the production, financing, and exploitation of films and other content, as well as on IP issues in M&A transactions.

Another focus of his practice is the regulation of artificial intelligence, particularly under the European Union’s AI Act. Philip advises companies of various sizes on all matters related to the development and deployment of AI systems.

Prior to joining the firm, Philip worked as a researcher at the Dresden University of Technology, affiliated with the DFG-funded Center for Perspicuous Computing (CPEC). As part of an interdisciplinary research team, he focused on the legal requirements for effective human oversight of high-risk AI systems.
