Kelly Dobbs Bunting to Present 2 Sessions at SHRM23

LAS VEGAS – June 8, 2023 –Kelly Dobbs Bunting, co-chair of the Workplace Compliance & Counseling Group of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP’s Labor & Employment Practice, will present two sessions at the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM)’s 2023 conference June 11-13 in Las Vegas.

On June 12 in a morning mega session, Bunting will present “Politics and the Workplace: Disciplining Employees in the Age of Free Speech,” covering how to maintain order in the workplace when conversations turn into arguments. She will discuss which states protect certain categories of speech and off-duty conduct and when discipline is appropriate to maintain a respectful workplace.

On June 13, Bunting will present “I, Robot: The EEOC, Artificial Intelligence, and Discrimination.” She will review the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC)’s guidance on AI-assisted human resources software as well as concerns with new technology violating civil rights laws, and federal and state legislation regulating AI now and in the future.

Bunting is a shareholder in Greenberg Traurig’s Philadelphia office. She litigates federal and state class and collective actions alleging wage and hour violations, misclassification, overtime, minimum wage, and off-the-clock work. Bunting also defends employers around the country in single-plaintiff litigation involving gender, age, disability, race, national origin, religious, and pregnancy discrimination; harassment and retaliation; whistleblower claims; theft of trade secrets; breach of duty; breach of employment agreements; and restrictive covenants.
