Giuseppe Bulgarini focuses his practice in employment and labor law, with over twenty-five years of experience navigating complex legal challenges in this field.

His experience spans a wide array of employment matters, including litigation on individual and collective dismissals, secondments, disciplinary procedures, breaches of non-compete clauses and non-solicitation and suspension of employment, demonstrating his ability to navigate complex employment disputes. Additionally, Giuseppe is skilled in industrial relation matters and regularly deals in negotiating collective company agreements, assisting companies in complex information and consultation processes with trade unions, while also providing strategic counsel on business transfers and M&A transactions, where employment matters are often pivotal.

Beyond his legal practice, Giuseppe is a regular contributor to “Il Sole 24 Ore,” Italy’s leading business newspaper, and appears on RAI Radio1 to discuss employment and labor law issues.   • Before joining Greenberg Traurig, Giuseppe led the labor team of an international law firm in Milan and, previously, of leading Italian law firms.
  • Advised a group of companies leader in the health and social care sector in the process aimed at replacing four different NCBAs applied to almost 3,000 of their employees and negotiated company agreements with the trade unions.°
  • Assisted a European group of companies leader in the production and sale of glass and crystal containers to implement the whistleblowing channel for several legal entities along EU countries, even co-ordinating the adaptation of the group whistleblowing procedure to the different jurisdictions in France, Germany and Spain.°
  • Advised the Italian branch of a Norwegian company operating in the aviation sector in the massive collective dismissal of no. 279 employees due to the termination of the air flight business from Fiumicino airport ended with the execution of an agreement with trade unions before the Ministry of Labour.°
  • Assisted the Italian company of a French Group operating in the retail sector in the management of a redundancy process due to the closure of several stores and involving the dismissal of almost fifty employees in the Northern Italy ended with an agreement with trade unions executed before the Ministry of Labour.°
  • Assisted an Italian multinational company leader in the production of spirits and alcoholic beverages in the re-organization of the sales force, including the adoption of new contractual conditions for almost 100 commercial agents and the change of duties in the sales department, including new territory assignments to area managers and dismissals of executive employees.°
  • Assisted the Italian company of a multinational group operating in the airline catering services in the negotiation with the exiting caterer and the trade unions of an agreement to manage the hiring of employees by the entering caterer pursuant to the social clause provided for by NCBA applied by both the exiting and the entering caterer in case of succession in the service contract.°
  • Assisted a group of Italian companies operating in the communication field for national and international pharmaceutical companies, to terminate the directorships and the employments with two managers holding shares of the mother company, while removing them from the position of chairman and CEO of some of the companies.°
  • Advised the Italian wing of a Norwegian renewable energy producer on drafting and negotiating several collective company agreements, including agreements on flexible work hours and remote work, variable remuneration pay and welfare measures, business trips and career paths, and work-life balance aimed at introducing a framework of rules to support parenthood and families.°
  • Advised a group of companies active in the integrated services under the control of local authorities in Central Italy on the lawfulness of the cumulative intra-group posting of no. 143 out of 192 employees.°
  • Advised a group of companies (involving both Swiss and Italian legal entities) operating as a strategic partner to support healthcare companies in accessing the Italian market, to build an exit strategy to terminate the relationship with the Group CFO and Managing Director, avoiding the risks associated with the requalification into subordinate employment relationships.°
  • Advised an Italian industrial company of strategic interest admitted to the extraordinary administration procedure, leader in the market for the production of inverters for photovoltaic systems, in the closure of a productive plant in North Italy and managed the collective redundancy procedure of almost 60 employees ended with a trade unions agreement executed before the Ministry of Labour.°
  • Advised a Swiss company operating in the field of infrastructure design and underground works in the transfer of undertaking procedure from an insolvent company and negotiated an agreement with trade unions for the transfer of only part of the workforce and for the reduction of the overall pay of a group of transferred employees.°
  • Advised the Italian company of a French Group leader in the retail sector in the redundancy procedure involving the dismissal of over sixty employees in the whole Italian territory terminated with an agreement with trade unions executed before the Ministry of Labor and in the following transfer of undertaking process within a merger by incorporation transaction.°
  • Advised a company, operating in the production of coffee capsules, in the collective dismissal procedure aimed to dismiss twenty-two employees employed in Lombardy Region and negotiated an agreement with trade unions before Lombardy Region to manage the dismissals.°
  • Advised an Italian company, part of a leading multi-national group in the production of beer and soft drinks, in the massive transfer of the employees after decision to move the seat of the company was taken and assisted the company with the termination of several employees who did not follow with the transfer of the company’s seat.°
  • Assisted the Italian branch of an Irish company, part of U.S. multinational group in the money transfer sector, with the disciplinary dismissal of the CFO and the following judicial claim before the court of Rome.°
  • Assisted an Italian company leader in the production of spirits and alcoholic beverage in the procedure before the Regional Councillor for Equality for alleged gender discrimination brought by the company against a female employee during her pregnancy.°
  • Assisted an Italian company leader in the wheel manufacturing sector in the judicial claim for damages brought by the heirs of a former employee died due to lung cancer affirming the company was responsible for the death.°
  • Assisted the Italian company of a Swiss group leader in the lingerie retail sector with the disciplinary dismissal of four shop assistants and the following judicial claims before the court of Novara.°
