NEW YORK and PHILADELPHIA– Oct. 12, 2022 – Greenberg Traurig, LLP Immigration & Compliance Practice Shareholder Jennifer Hermansky and Co-Chair Kate Kalmykov will present a two-part webinar on the EB-5 immigrant investor program Oct. 13-14.
Part 1, “EB-5 Update,” will take place Oct. 13 at 10 a.m. and cover the practical impact of the EB-5 litigation on EB-5 investor I-526E project and regional center filings. Hermansky and Kalmykov will discuss the requirements and strategies for successful submissions to USCIS.
Part 2, “EB-5 Legislation Update: Agent and Promoter Registration with USCIS,” will take place Oct. 14 at 10 a.m. and focus on the new USCIS process to register new commercial enterprises and their party promoters and foreign finders with USCIS using the new form I-956K.
Hermansky, who is based in Greenberg Traurig’s Philadelphia office, focuses her immigration practice on employment-based immigration and EB-5 matters. She has experience serving health care, pharmaceutical, and real estate industries as well as entrepreneurs, scientists, and researchers in scientific communities for a wide range of temporary visa options and permanent residence solutions.
Kalmykov, who is based in Greenberg Traurig’s New Jersey and New York offices, has deep experience working on EB-5 immigrant investor matters. She regularly works with developers across a variety of industries, as well as private equity funds on developing new projects that qualify for EB-5 investments. This includes creation of new Regional Centers, having projects adopted by existing Regional Centers or through pooled individual EB-5 petitions. For existing Regional Centers, Kalmykov regularly helps to prepare amendment filings, file exemplar petitions, address removal of conditions issues, and ensure they develop an internal program for ongoing compliance with applicable immigration regulations and guidance. She also counsels foreign nationals on obtaining green cards through either individual or Regional Center EB-5 investments, as well as issues related to I-829 Removal of Conditions.
