Greenberg Traurig’s David I. Miller to Chair Practising Law Institute’s Insider Trading Law Program

NEW YORK – Oct. 22, 2020 David I. Miller, a White Collar Defense & Special Investigations Practice shareholder at global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, will chair the Practising Law Institute’s (PLI) Insider Trading Law Program, taking place Wednesday, Oct. 28.  Miller has chaired this PLI program since 2015.

This virtual PLI program focuses on the state of insider trading law, enforcement priorities in this area, and how clients can avoid the government’s crosshairs. Current and former Department of Justice prosecutors and U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and Commodity Futures Trading Commission enforcement attorneys will address changes in the law, current and future areas of enforcement, and best compliance practices to prevent insider trading issues. Miller will deliver opening remarks, moderate two panel discussions during the webinar: What is Insider Trading Law and Recent Enforcement Focus and Enforcement Priorities: Now and the Future, and will participate as a panelist in Advising Clients with Insider Trading Issues.

Miller is an experienced trial lawyer and former federal prosecutor. He focuses his practice on white collar criminal defense, government and internal investigations, securities and commodities enforcement, related complex civil litigation, and cryptocurrency, cybersecurity, anti-money laundering, and national security matters. Previously, Miller served for five years as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Southern District of New York, over half that time as a member of the Securities and Commodities Fraud Task Force. He also served as a terrorism prosecutor with the Department of Justice in Washington, D.C., as a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Eastern District of Virginia, as an Assistant General Counsel for the Central Intelligence Agency, and as a white-collar, securities, and commercial litigation attorney in private practice.
