Dr. Yazid Almasoud is a seasoned attorney and thought leader with over 15 years of experience, focusing on integrating strategic public policy insights with legal experience to address complex institutional challenges, driving impactful strategies for government entities and private institutions across Saudi Arabia.
For nearly a decade, Dr. Yazid served as Advisor to HRH the Minister of Energy, where he provided critical counsel on public policy design, regulatory frameworks, legislative reform, governance structures, and institutional restructuring. He has worked extensively with ministerial and supreme committees, represented agencies in the Royal Court and the Center of Government, and played a pivotal role in shaping Saudi Arabia’s regulatory and legislative landscape.
Dr. Yazid’s leadership has guided the drafting of major laws and regulations across multiple sectors, where he oversaw cross-sector teams and stakeholder engagement initiatives. His experience extends to international negotiations, regulatory impact assessments, and court advocacy on behalf of administrative bodies, demonstrating a deep understanding of both domestic and global legal systems.
Dr. Yazid holds a Ph.D. in Law from Lancaster University, where his research focused on comparative corporate restructuring frameworks between the United Kingdom and Saudi Arabia. He also earned an LL.M. from Lancaster University and a B.A. in Islamic Law (Shariah) from IMSIU. Complementing his academic achievements, he has completed prestigious executive programs, including Leadership in Law Firms at Harvard Law School, the Oxford Executive Leadership Program at Saïd Business School, and the MBA-E at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).
