Greenberg Traurig is the Women in Business Law ‘Gender Diversity Firm of the Year’

NEW YORK – Dec. 6, 2022 – Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP won the Global Women in Business Law Gender Diversity Firm of the Year Award which recognizes winners for “progressive and innovative work” being carried out by firms to promote diversity and inclusion policies within their business framework.

The award was presented by Women in Business Law, a publication of Legal Media Group, the legal publishing arm of Euromoney Institutional Investor, one of the world's leading financial publishers. Winners are recognized across several categories and are chosen by a research team following direct submissions.

Through its Greenberg Traurig Women’s Initiative (GTWI), the firm fosters the success of women attorneys, strengthens the firm’s culture, contributes to the firm’s financial health, and better serves firm clients. GTWI provides training, business development opportunities, and targeted mentoring.

In 2022, Greenberg Traurig named the following shareholders as co-chairs of the GTWI, the Co-Chair of London Real Estate Group Danielle L. Martin; Lisa C. McCurdy; Courtney E. McGuinn; and the Chair of Miami Appeals & Legal Issues Group and Co-Chair of Miami Litigation Practice Brigid F. Cech Samole. They succeeded former long-time GTWI co-chairs Greenberg Traurig Vice Chair Martha A. Sabol, and the Co-Managing Shareholder of Greenberg Traurig’s Orange County office and Co-Chair of the firm’s Global Trademark & Brand Management Group Susan L. Heller.

“We are very proud of this award because it speaks to the laser-focused commitment by the firm and its attorneys on the recruitment, development, support, and retention of women attorneys throughout our 43 offices worldwide,” noted Martin, McCurdy, McGuinn, and Samole. “GTWI reflects the firm’s core values of fairness, equality, and authenticity. This is a place where all are respected and everyone has the support and opportunity to contribute, develop their skills, and grow their business.”

GTWI supports women across the firm, with designated GTWI liaisons in every Greenberg Traurig office, providing on-the-ground impact and attention at the local level.

Initiatives that exemplify GTWI’s impact include Good2Great (G2G), Women’s Business Forum (WBF), and Hospitality and Equality Redefined through Empowerment (H.E.R.E). G2G is a business development coaching program that invests in and supports the firm’s high-potential women shareholders to grow into strong business developers, collaborators, and leaders. The WBF provides the opportunity to bring women together for a dynamic educational summit and networking event for the firm’s women clients and contacts.
