LONG ISLAND, N.Y. – Sept. 5, 2024 – Kathryn C. Cole, a shareholder in global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP’s Litigation Practice, was named among Long Island Business News’ 2024 “Top 50 Women in Business.”
According to the publication, honorees are “accomplished, impactful leaders in their professions and in the community” who demonstrate a “commitment to their organizations and to mentoring other women leaders on Long Island.” Honorees will be recognized at an awards ceremony Oct. 17 in Woodbury.
Cole, a commercial litigator, represents large and small businesses, financial institutions, and individuals in virtually all aspects of federal and state court litigation, arbitration and mediation, and before federal agencies and regulatory bodies. In addition to her considerable experience in many areas of complex litigation, including contract claims, product liability claims, tort claims, consumer class-action claims, and securities class-action claims, Cole advises clients on electronic data and cyber-related issues – topics that are the focus of the firm’s eDiscovery Watch blog.
A leader within her community, Cole serves as a longtime board member of both the Alumni Association for St. John’s University School of Law and the Federal Bar Association’s Eastern District of New York Chapter. She is also an advisory board member for Smile Farms, Inc. – a not-for-profit that creates meaningful employment, vocational, and educational opportunities for people with disabilities. At Greenberg Traurig, Cole serves as the Long Island chair of the firm’s Women’s Initiative. Cole has been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America and Super Lawyers for her work in the litigation field.
