Greenberg Traurig’s Richard J. Valladares Reappointed to Georgia Board of Education

ATLANTA – Feb. 28, 2025 – Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP’s Richard J. Valladares has been reappointed to the Georgia Board of Education, by executive order of the governor, now serving as the representative for the Seventh Congressional District. He was originally appointed in 2023 and is among the 104 Georgians appointed to various state boards, authorities, and commissions by Governor Brian P. Kemp.

"I am honored to be reappointed as the Seventh Congressional District representative on the Georgia Board of Education,” Valladares said. “I look forward to continuing my work to ensure that every student in Georgia has access to high-quality education and the resources they need to succeed." 

Valladares, who previously served the Sixth Congressional District of Georgia, is an administrative shareholder in the firm’s Atlanta office and chair of the Atlanta Business Litigation Group. He has experience in numerous areas of litigation, including complex commercial litigation, personal injury defense, class action, construction litigation, products liability, and insurance coverage litigation. His new appointment term of office is until January 1, 2032.
