Jonathan E. Giroux is a shareholder in the Intellectual Property & Technology Group in the firm’s Chicago office. His practice includes a broad range of intellectual property matters, including procurement and enforcement of patent, copyright, and trademark rights, with a particular focus on patent prosecution and litigation.

Jon’s patent litigation experience includes both competitor-to-competitor cases and defending against non-practicing entities. These cases have covered a broad range of technology areas, including consumer devices, linear actuators, data transmission and security protocols, automotive safety systems, and business method-related fields such as electronic check routing, mass marketing, and banking transactions.

In patent prosecution, Jon has represented large, mid-size, and startup companies in numerous technology areas, including medical devices, mobile networking and security, electroacoustic transducers, consumer products, and aerospace. In addition, he has performed portfolio due diligence and patent review and opinion work in many of the same fields.
