Companies Wait on Transfer-Pricing Changes After Tariff Ruling

Sharon Katz-Pearlman is quoted in a Bloomberg Tax article titled “Companies Wait on Transfer-Pricing Changes After Tariff Ruling.” In the article she notes that the imposition of tariffs has introduced “substantial additional new costs” that fundamentally alter the economic analysis companies have to perform for transfer-pricing purposes. She also mentions that the rapidly changing environment makes it extremely difficult for companies to demonstrate ongoing compliance given the lack of solid, stable information. Discussing the fact that advance pricing agreements have become much more complicated in this environment and the general state of uncomfortable uncertainty, Sharon said ”I think that they may be in this not-happy place for a while yet.”
