Caroline J. Heller Recognized as a Crain’s New York 2022 Notable Diverse Leaders in Law

NEW YORK – July 19, 2022Caroline J. Heller, a litigation shareholder in the New York office of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, has been recognized as one of the Crain’s New York “2022 Notable Diverse Leaders in Law.” Heller also serves as chair of the firm’s Global Pro Bono Program.

“Developing and implementing programs that create positive impact in our communities and public service and pro bono opportunities for attorneys is a great passion of mine,” Heller said. “Congratulations to my fellow honorees; I am honored to be part of this group.”

According to the publication, the “80 individuals named to Crain's 2022 Notable Diverse Leaders in Law excel at the city's leading law firms across a range of specialties. They stand out for their counseling and the nature of their pro bono work, and demonstrate a commitment to community service, philanthropy, professional mentorship and diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.”

In coordination with 40 shareholders serving as local pro bono coordinators and a manager who formerly practiced law, Heller implements Greenberg Traurig’s global pro bono program and mentors and supervises associates on pro bono matters. Heller is also president of the firm’s Holly Skolnick Fellowship Foundation, through which Greenberg Traurig serves as the largest sponsor of the Equal Justice Works Fellowship program focusing on public interest law and racial, social, and economic justice. Outside of the firm, Heller serves on the criminal justice and projects committees of the Law Firm Antiracism Alliance and on the pro bono committee of the Advocates for Children Board. She directly represents the parents of children with special needs, refugees, and incarcerated individuals with innocence claims, to name a few.

Heller focuses her practice on complex commercial litigation and business disputes on a nationwide basis in the fields of professional liability, partnership disputes, securities litigation, and entertainment disputes. She has litigation experience in federal and state courts and arbitration experience before the American Arbitration Association. She has represented accounting firms, limited partnerships, hedge funds, consumer electronics companies, financial institutions, factors, and real estate developers.
