Greenberg Traurig’s Ian C. Ballon and Susan L. Heller Named to 2023 ‘Top Intellectual Property Lawyers’ List

LOS ANGELES – May 30, 2023 – Ian C. Ballon and Susan L. Heller, shareholders of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, have been recognized by the Daily Journal’s “Top Intellectual Property Lawyers of California” list for 2023. Ballon and Heller are consistently named to the prestigious annual list, which honors attorneys on the cutting edge of intellectual property work according to the publication.

Ballon, who is based in Greenberg Traurig’s Silicon Valley and Los Angeles offices, is co-chair of the firm’s global Intellectual Property & Technology Practice. He is an internet litigator who represents clients in copyright, Digital Millennium Copyright Act, trademark, trade secret, right of publicity, privacy, security, software, database, and Internet- and mobile-related disputes, and in the defense of data privacy, cybersecurity breach, adtech and behavioral advertising, TCPA, and other Internet-related class action suits. In addition to his practice, Ballon authors the five-volume legal treatise, E-Commerce and Internet Law: Treatise With Forms 2d Edition (West 2008 & 2022 Cum. Supp., www.ianballon.net) and the earlier first edition, which has been cited in state and federal court opinions. He is an elected member of the American Law Institute and served as an advisor to its international intellectual property jurisdiction project and is a member of the consultative group for the American Law Institute’s Data Privacy Principles of Law project.
