GT Tampa is a sponsor for the Saving Sight and Sound Golf Tournament. GT attorney Laura Hendee serves as a Board Member for Saving Sight and Sound whose mission is to raise awareness and funding for research and development of cures for the vision loss associated with Usher syndrome. Usher syndrome is the most common genetic cause of deaf-blindness and is characterized by varying levels of hearing loss from birth or adolescence, gradual vision loss from Retinitis Pigmentosa, and in some instances, balance issues. The charity also provides funding for hearing aids for children locally who cannot afford such devices.
