Greenberg Traurig is Among InterLaw Diversity Forum’s Inaugural UK Model Diversity Survey Foundation Firms

LONDON, 2 Aug. 2022 – Greenberg Traurig is among a core group of law firms that have joined the InterLaw Diversity Forum’s inaugural UK Model Diversity Survey (UK MDS).

“Diversity, equity, and inclusion are critical elements of our core values and foundation. We are proud to be among InterLaw’s inaugural law firms committed to the UK MDS,” said Fiona Adams, Managing Shareholder of the Greenberg Traurig London office and Co-Chair of its Global Corporate Practice. “Increasing transparency in the collection of diversity data will ultimately benefit our clients and the legal profession in the UK, evidenced by the fact that more than 30 corporate and financial entities have also pledged to participate in this survey and all it represents for those of us committed to equality.”

The goal of the UK MDS, according to InterLaw, is to become the single accepted standard for UK law firms to provide diversity data to clients. It will require that firms share diversity statistics with clients, focusing on transparency and collection of meaningful data. InterLaw reports that 32 firms have joined as Foundation Law Firm Participants, with 34 corporations and financial institutions joining as UK MDS Foundation Client Signatories.

The UK MDS has been adapted from the American Bar Association’s Model Diversity Survey in the United States, now in its fifth year and in which Greenberg Traurig participates. The Law School Admission Council configures and administrates the platform for both the ABA MDS and the UK MDS.

The InterLaw Diversity Forum, established in 2008, has as its mission to foster inclusion for all diverse, socially mobile, and under-represented talent working in the legal sector, and promote meritocracy in all sectors by working to “level the playing field” in order to create environments where the best talent can succeed.
