Kate Martin is an Of Counsel in the firm’s London office, focusing on Labour and Employment law across the UK and internationally. She provides advice to a diverse range of employer clients – from multinational organisations to growth-oriented enterprises – on pragmatic, commercially driven employment law strategies. Her practice covers the full spectrum of employment matters, including day-to-day advisory support, complex disputes, workforce restructuring, and cross-border employment issues. She also has a wealth of experience in guiding clients with managing global workforces across multiple jurisdictions, from onboarding to large-scale reductions in force, and has built strong relationships across sectors including technology, retail, and pharmaceutical.

  • Advising on a complex employment tribunal matter for a global engineering company, including a technical jurisdictional and applicant argument that has not been previously tested in the English courts.°
  • Providing day-to-day support to a global veterinarian medicine client, which has ranged from harmonising employment documents, entering new territories, advising on exit strategies, assisting with in-country litigation, as well as other ad-hoc employment law support.°
  • Being the main advisor for the full spectrum of employment law matters for a fast-growth software platform, with entities in the UK and Middle East.°
  • Supporting a cloud-based platform client with a restructuring in the UK, including providing comprehensive support with the redundancy process, including a number of senior-level negotiations and exits.°
  • Advising on the purchase of a software company in the UK, which included the full scale of transactional employment law support.°
  • Assisting a US-headquartered IT company on the employment law aspects of a sale of a business unit in 30+ countries.°
