GT is a Platinum Sponsor of the Seton Hall School of Law's 40th Annual Red Mass. GT New Jersey Shareholder Kevin G. Walsh will be honored with the Saint Thomas More Medal. Seton Hall’s Red Mass is part of an ancient tradition that serves to mark the beginning of the judicial year where participants invoke God’s blessings and guidance in the administration of justice. The first Red Mass in the United States took place in New York City in 1928, celebrated at old St. Andrew’s Church on Duane Street by His Eminence Patrick Cardinal Hayes, who strongly encouraged and supported the legal community’s involvement in spreading the Word of God. The Red Mass is also celebrated annually in Washington, DC before the Supreme Court begins its work on the first Monday in October.
