Greenberg Traurig Shortlisted for 6 Euromoney Women in Business Law Awards EMEA 2023

LONDON – May 4, 2023 – Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP is shortlisted in five law firm categories and one best in practice category for Euromoney Legal Media Group’s “Women in Business Law Awards EMEA 2023.” Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony in London June 28.

According to Euromoney, the award series “celebrates the efforts and achievements of law firms and professional services firms across Europe in helping women to advance in the legal profession.” Criteria include the ratio of female-to-male lawyers at all levels of seniority, the retention of women associates to partner level, and relevant diversity initiatives. Individual winners are selected based on their professional accomplishments as well as advocacy and influence over the previous 12 months.

Jessica Ganagasegaran, shareholder in the firm’s Tax Practice and co-chair of the London office’s pro bono and corporate social responsibilities initiatives, was shortlisted for Tax Lawyer of the Year. Ganagasegaran leads on several high value international and United Kingdom transactions, and her practice includes structuring joint ventures in investing in real estate. In addition to her legal accomplishments, she is a member of Greenberg Traurig London’s Women’s Initiative Network and the firm’s social mobility working group. The best in practice awards recognize individuals who stand out as leaders among their peers and who have been instrumental to innovative approaches in their field, according to the publication.

The firm was shortlisted in two firm of the year categories, Gender Diversity International Firm of the Year and Women in Business Law International Firm of the Year. These awards recognize firms with initiatives to promote diversity and inclusion policies, and to uplift women within the industry. Greenberg Traurig’s projects and initiatives include the Global Women’s Initiative, whose goal is to strengthen the firm by building a cohesive community of women lawyers through empowerment, inclusion, and advancement.

In addition, the firm was shortlisted in three jurisdiction awards, Israel Firm of the Year, Poland Firm of the Year, and United Kingdom Firm of the Year, recognizing firms who put policy and rhetoric into positive action that promotes the work and culture of women in the legal industry.
