3 Greenberg Traurig Attorneys Named to Florida Trend’s ‘Notable Women Leaders in Law’ List

MIAMI – Dec. 4, 2023 – Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, P.A. Shareholders Brigid F. Cech Samole, Tracy L. Gerber, and Michele L. Stocker appear on Florida Trend’s inaugural “Notable Women Leaders in Law” list.

Florida Trend’s “Notable Women Leaders in Law” list recognizes women who have made notable impacts on the legal profession and mentor or act as a role model for others in the workplace, according to the publication. Honorees were selected based on a nomination process and are featured in the publication’s December 2023 issue as part of its Legal Elite Notable series.

“Beyond achieving success for their clients, Brigid, Tracy, and Michele each are dedicated to giving back to their communities and serve as a mentor for other attorneys at Greenberg Traurig,” Greenberg Traurig Senior Chairman Matthew B. Gorson said. “This recognition serves as a testament to their strong leadership skills and continued commitment to drive positive change within the firm and in South Florida. We are proud of their accomplishments and congratulate all the other honorees for this well-deserved recognition.”

Cech Samole is chair of the MiamiAppeals & Legal Issues Group, co-chair of the Miami Litigation Practice, and co-chair of Greenberg Traurig’s Global Women’s Initiative. Cech Samole is well-known for representing clients in complex matters throughout the United States in federal and state forums. She serves as an active member of several organizations, including the Chapman Partnership board of trustees, on which she is chair-elect and will be the chair of the board in September 2024. As chair of Greenberg Traurig’s Miami office Pro Bono program since 2019, the number of pro bono hours expended by the firm’s associates and shareholders have increased greatly under her leadership.

Gerber is co-managing shareholder of Greenberg Traurig’s West Palm Beach office and co-chair of the firm’s national Broker-Dealer Securities Litigation Practice. She also serves on Greenberg Traurig’s Global Litigation Practice Group’s executive committee, which comprises 700+ attorneys. Gerber has long been committed to public education and volunteerism within the public school system. In 2022, she finished her term a Suncoast Foundation board member, where she helped create a fully invested endowment fund to support student enrichment and engagement at Suncoast Community High School. 

Stocker is founder and co-chair of Greenberg Traurig’s Consumer Financial Services Litigation Practice. Based in Fort Lauderdale, she represents financial institutions in a broad range of litigation matters related to their consumer-facing products and services. Stocker routinely gives back through mentoring and leadership in community organizations, including serving as a long-time board member for the Crockett Foundation and the Orange Bowl Committee. She was also the first Black chair of the Pine Crest School’s board of trustees and helped to launch its diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) efforts, currently serving as a DEI Committee member.
