Greenberg Traurig Opens 2024 with GT Philadelphia Presents Thought Leadership Series

Global law firm set to regularly provide an array of educational and professional insights, drawing perspectives from a multidisciplinary selection of practitioners

PHILADELPHIA – Jan. 16, 2024 – Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP’s Philadelphia office debuted its 2024 thought leadership series in January, opening the year with facts, context, and perspective political campaigns may need for the election cycle, now under way.

Pennsylvania Government Law & Policy Chair and Shareholder Kevin Greenberg kicked off GT Philadelphia Presents with an in-depth look at the latest shifts and changes in Pennsylvania election law and its administration. In March, the office series will continue with a lunchtime offering from its Real Estate Practice.

“Our clients – and for that matter our colleagues firmwide – look to us to help them make sense of unfolding legal issues in this market,” Philadelphia Managing Shareholder Alexander L. Scarola said. “This series is designed to supplement the longstanding and wide-reaching programming provided by the firm, but with hyperlocal insights on subjects emanating from or impacting Philadelphia and the Commonwealth at large.

“Whether our clients are in Conshohocken or elsewhere in the Commonwealth, the country, or abroad, they will be better versed and gain a better sense of this market and how to operate in it,” Scarola said.

GT Philadelphia Presents programming – and, as appropriate, CLE credit requests for select jurisdictions – is complimentary for firm clients and select guests.

Featured presenters in the 2024 Pennsylvania Election Law Update included the Judge Lori A. Dumas of the Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court; Bucks County Solicitor Amy Fitzpatrick, and State Sen. Sharif Street, who also chairs the Pennsylvania Democratic Party.

Kevin Greenberg led the four-hour soup-to-nuts presentation, split across two days, discussing the basics as well as implications of recent rulings and developments, such as a 2022 Pennsylvania Supreme Court decision concerning candidate residency. The program, while primarily offering CLE credit for attorneys, also is designed to advise candidates, political professionals, and campaign treasurers.

A former chief deputy city solicitor for the City of Philadelphia, Kevin Greenberg represents business, governments, nonprofits, and developers in economic development, real estate, and political law matters. His practice supports firm clients navigating a variety of regulatory, legal, and policy matters at virtually every level of government.
