2022 Florida Business of DEI

The Florida Diversity Council, a chapter of the National Diversity Council, presents the 2022 Florida Business of DEI.  Come and join us to learn about the business case of diversity, equity, and inclusion!  Our speakers will provide you with key insights into why diversity and inclusion is imperative to a successful modern business and how to demonstrate this to your executives and senior leaders.  Tampa Mayor Jane Castor provides opening welcoming remarks.  Keynote Speaker is Dr. Thomas Witherspoon, Chief Diversity Officer for the University of Tampa. 

A panel discussion of “The Impact of the Great Resignation on DEI” will be moderated by Nisha Brice, Director, Strategic Investment & Impact, Orlando Economic Partnership and includes Pedro Suriel, SVP, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, Raymond James Financial, and Francisco Wen, Manager, HR and Organizational Engagement, Tampa Bay Rays.

GT Labor & Employment Shareholder Katie Molloy will present “DEI Best Practices Amidst Policies and Regulations."  Where she will address how Employers must carefully navigate best practices for cultivating a workplace that promotes a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion and supports employers’ overall business objectives while complying with Florida law. This presentation will focus on those government regulations and policies impacting Florida businesses and how to promote DEI best practices while staying compliant with relevant laws.
