ACC Georgia CLE Luncheon - Out of the Bot Thinking: The Legal Battle to Recognize Artificial Intelligence as Valid Patent Inventors and Copyright Authors - February 14, 2023

As part of Greenberg Traurig's sponsorship with ACC Georgia, Joel Feldman, Co-Chair of GT’s Trademark & Brand Management Group, and Robert King, Chair of GT’s Atlanta Intellectual Property & Technology Practice, will present “Out of the Bot Thinking: The Legal Battle to Recognize Artificial Intelligence as Valid Patent Inventors and Copyright Authors” - a compelling presentation and conversation on the world of artificial intelligence.

Humans have created artificial intelligence machines and their artificial intelligence machines have created valuable inventions and creative works. But, thus far, the U.S. Copyright Office has refused to register works authored by artificial intelligence and the U.S. Patent Office has refused to register inventions created by artificial intelligence. This program will explore the question of whether Congress and the courts should allow the patent registration of these inventions and copyright registration of these works, including one AI pioneer’s journey through the courts.
