Nick Davies’ legal practice is at the forefront of technology-focussed, M&A, fundraisings and joint venture transactions in South East Asia and the Asia-Pacific region (APAC). He has been based in Singapore for more than a decade, leading transactions across the full spectrum of capital raisings, market-entry, strategic investments and exits. Nick also spent the first part of his career in London with a focus on emerging market corporate transactions in Eastern Europe, and also supporting U.S. private equity and Middle Eastern sovereign investors in their transactions into Europe.

Clients value Nick’s hands-on commercially focussed legal advice. Over a career spanning almost 20 years, he has guided clients in their international dealmaking and strategic investments in varying economic cycles, emerging markets and through changing regulatory conditions. He has negotiated against a vast array of counterparties from state actors, multinationals, investments funds, oligarchs to visionary entrepreneurs, and this depth of experience makes Nick a key asset for clients trying to navigate complex multi-party deals.

His clients include equity investors and credit funds, family offices, multinational companies, financial institutions and company founders. Nick’s style and executional experience is attuned to bridging gaps and differences between counterparties. He helps his clients take a highly calibrated approach to business risk, whilst also reinforcing their business aims and partnership goals. He seeks to help his clients stand firm in the face of commercial threats and he has a track record of helping clients to take control of difficult commercial and legal situations.

Nick’s work is cross border by nature, spanning the APAC region and also connecting into the firm’s U.S., European and Middle Eastern offices. Nick’s sector focus on emerging technologies and digitisation transactions includes market leading experience in advising on investments and commercial deals involving digital platforms, fintech, data-centric businesses, and consumer-related or regulated industries.

Nick has also developed a concentration in venture capital and debt transactions, from early-stage financings, through to growth rounds and exits. He is frequently called in to help with complex fundraising transactions, where his instincts for assessing the dynamics between different stakeholders leads to execution strategies that can deliver significant value for his clients.

Nick has been recognized by Chambers & Partners, Legal 500 and IFLR 1000 in their categories for next generation law firm Partners.

Nick is licensed to practice in England and Wales and is a Registered Foreign Lawyer in Singapore.
