With nearly 30 years of experience, Jason Goldstein advises arena and stadium developers, sports franchises, commercial lenders, and specialty finance companies on real estate finance and development transactions, including some of the largest stadium and arena projects across the United States and Canada. He handles project ground leases, development documents, facility use agreements, construction and mortgage lending, workouts, and loan restructurings. His work on sports venue projects spans the life of a development, giving clients a coordinated perspective on the legal and commercial issues that arise from planning through financing and use.
Jason also represents clients in complex real estate transactions, including conventional mortgage and construction lending, as well as financings involving public and private capital. His collaborative approach is designed to align developers, lenders, owners, and other stakeholders around their commercial objectives. He combines a focused understanding of the sports and venue sector with broad experience in real estate finance and infrastructure-related projects.

- MLS Stadium – lead partner representing lenders in construction financing of a stadium dedicated for use by MLS team. Representation included negotiation of ground lease and related financing documents adverse to municipal ground lessor.°
- Canadian Sports and Music Venue – lead partner representing developer in the negotiation of all lease and development documents related to the full-scale renovation and redevelopment of a major Canadian city’s principal indoor sports and entertainment venue.°
- University Sports and Music Venue – lead partner representing developer in the negotiation of all transaction documents with a State university related to construction, management and operation of a new 15,000 seat multipurpose arena.°
- Downtown Sports and Music Venue – lead partner representing developer in connection with the drafting and negotiation of all transaction documents necessary to accommodate the sale of historic tax credits. This representation included extensive negotiations with the municipal ground lessor, sports league and institutional equity investor.°
