Corey Leggett is an intellectual property and technology litigator who represents clients in high-stakes disputes involving critical technologies. With a technical background and jury trial experience, Corey effectively manages complex details while developing comprehensive litigation strategies.

Corey handles matters involving patent, trade secret, copyright, unfair competition, trademark, trade dress, contractual disputes over intellectual property, false advertising, and consumer product disputes. His experience spans the entire litigation process, from pre-suit strategic planning through jury trial, post-trial proceedings, and appeals. Corey has litigated cases in district courts nationwide, as well as before the International Trade Commission (ITC), the USPTO’s Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB), and arbitration tribunals.

Corey works with clients across multiple industries, including tech hardware and software, manufacturing and industrials, biotech and health care, and financial services. He has deep experience litigating cases involving health and fitness monitoring wearable technologies, chipset configurations, memory controllers, software vulnerability detection systems, industrial chemical products, antibody therapeutics, and autonomous driving technologies.

  • Defended one of the world’s largest coatings companies against its rival competitor in a multi-week, multi-patent jury trial. Our team obtained a jury verdict of invalidity across-the-board on all asserted patents, which was affirmed on appeal by the Federal Circuit.°
  • Co-led defense of biopharmaceutical company in a USD 500+ million, bet-the-company arbitration about antibody discovery and commercialization technologies and involving breach of contract and trade secret misappropriation claims, among others.°
  • Represented and helped obtain summary judgment win for electronic design automation (“EDA”) company defending against competitor claims for alleged trade secret misappropriation and alleged copyright infringement.°
  • Defended automotive OEM in multiple alleged patent infringement lawsuits and leveraged strategic IPRs to secure effectively “walk away” settlements. Cases involved an array of technologies, such as car-to-mobile device communication protocols, wireless entry and locking systems, autonomous driving systems, and GPS navigation.°
  • Defended mobile device giant in standard essential patent (“SEP”) infringement cases across multiple U.S. district courts and helped position client for positive cross-license settlement.°
  • Represented medical device company in offensive case against competitor for trade secret misappropriation, breach of contract, and interference of contractual relations about patient imaging hardware/software solution.°
  • Defended aviation software company in trade secret misappropriation case.°
  • Represented foreign industrial chemical company in trade secret misappropriation case at ITC and district court.°
  • Represented headphone manufacturer in patent infringement case at ITC involving noise cancellation technology.°
  • Represented cattle company in one of the earliest post grant review (“PGR”) proceedings held at the PTAB. °
