Kate M. Wittlake handles a wide range of complex commercial litigation and products liability matters. She represents clients in trials and mediations, drafts settlement agreements, manages discovery, and authors critical motions. Using her knowledge of health care law, Kate counsels pharmaceutical companies and medical device manufacturers on regulatory compliance and a variety of products liability issues.

  • Represented global drug and device companies in a Judicial Council of California coordinated proceedings (JCCP) involving plaintiffs alleging claims of strict liability and negligence.°
  • Defended pharmaceutical companies in individual products liability cases involving prescription antipsychotic medications and hip implants, as well as over-the-counter medications.°
  • Represented large health delivery system and health clinics in various litigation to obtain payment for emergency services rendered to out-of-network patients.°
