WASHINGTON, D.C.– March 13, 2023 – Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP State & Local Tax (SALT) Practice Of Counsel DeAndré R. Morrow will speak at the 2023 American Bar Association – Institute for Professionals in Taxation (ABA-IPT) Advanced Sales & Use Tax Seminar on a panel titled “Running a Successful Sales and Use Tax Audit/Protest” March 15 at 1:30 p.m.
The panel will discuss the steps of a sales and use tax audit from beginning to end. The panelists will discuss common practices to ensure the audit experience is seamless, including decisions to extend the statute of limitations, when to include upper management in the decision-making process, and the best format to get the state all the information it needs for a thorough and efficient audit.
Morrow focuses his practice on state and local tax issues, including Maryland, Virginia, and District of Columbia taxes. He has counselled clients on a wide range of state and local tax matters including sales and use, income, property, franchise, motor fuel, documentary transfer, and transient occupancy taxes. Morrow represents clients before state and local tax agencies at the audit, collection, appeals, and litigation stages.
