George Banis is a registered patent agent and former patent examiner with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). George has hands-on experience in research and development and submitting patent applications. He assists clients in patent prosecution matters, and conducts patent interviews with patent examiners and USPTO submissions in a variety of technical areas including medical devices, biotechnology and electronics. He also handles infringement analysis and prior art searching.

George conducts invention disclosure interviews with clients to draft domestic patent applications. George also drafts responses to communications from the USPTO, the European Patent Office (EPO), the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA), the Japan Patent Office (JPO), among others. Additionally, George assists with freedom-to-operate (FTO) opinions for assessing IP landscapes, and preparing IP overviews of the client technologies for investor meetings.
