Profil
Christopher Senn advises aerospace, defense, and transportation clients on regulatory matters, government affairs, and policy strategy before federal agencies and Congress. He brings a combination of senior government leadership at the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), congressional counsel experience, and private sector practice to help clients navigate complex regulatory and legislative environments. His background as a former FAA Assistant Administrator and principal drafter of major aviation legislation gives him direct insight into how federal policy is developed, negotiated, and implemented. He represents clients on aviation and aerospace regulatory matters, including federal and state regulatory compliance, agency and congressional investigations, transactional due diligence, and strategic engagement with federal policymakers and regulators.
Before joining Greenberg Traurig, Chris served as Assistant Administrator of Government & Industry affairs at the FAA, where he led the agency’s external engagement strategy with Congress, federal agencies, industry stakeholders, and international counterparts. In that role, he advised the FAA Administrator and senior leadership on policy development, stakeholder engagement, and strategic alignment across high-priority initiatives, including air traffic control modernization and aviation safety matters.
Prior to his time at the FAA, Chris served as lead legal counsel to the Aviation Subcommittee of the U.S. House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, where he was a principal drafter of the 2024 FAA Reauthorization Act. He led provisions addressing air traffic control, cybersecurity, supply chain resilience, and emerging aerospace technologies, working closely with members of Congress and industry stakeholders to develop implementable statutory language. He also advised members of Congress on budget proposals, oversight strategy, and policy tradeoffs affecting aviation safety and advanced technology programs.
Chris also engaged in private practice prior to his government service, where he represented Fortune 10 and aerospace clients before federal agencies on regulatory, acquisition, and policy matters. He supported transactional due diligence for multibillion-dollar aerospace acquisitions, focusing on federal contracting, export controls, and regulatory compliance. His technical background further distinguishes his practice, with a Master of Science in Unmanned Systems, a private pilot license with an instrument rating, and experience as an unmanned aircraft systems operator and instructor in the United States Marine Corps.
