Greenberg Traurig Shareholder Fred E. Karlinsky Recognized in ‘Who’s Who in Government Relations’ by News Service of Florida

TALLAHASSEE – Dec. 11, 2025 – Greenberg Traurig, P.A.’s Global Insurance Regulatory & Transactions Practice Chair Fred E. Karlinsky was recognized during News Service of Florida’s inaugural “Who’s Who in Government Relations” awards dinner Dec. 9 at the DoubleTree Tallahassee.

The “Who’s Who in Government Relations” recognition celebrates Florida’s most influential government relations professionals who are committed to making a positive impact on the Sunshine State in a variety of sectors. This year’s recognition included 30 honorees who reflect the full spectrum of Florida’s government relations community.

Karlinsky, a shareholder in Greenberg Traurig’s Fort Lauderdale, Tallahassee, and Washington, D.C., offices, was recognized for his work representing clients across the insurance sector and for the impact of his advocacy work statewide.

A leading advocate on behalf of Florida’s insurance industry for more than 30 years, Karlinsky has played a pivotal role over recent years in stabilizing and shaping the future of the state’s insurance market. Beyond his work in the insurance sector, Karlinsky advises clients on complex government relations, compliance, and related issues at both the local and state levels across a wide array of industries.

Since 2014, Karlinsky has been appointed three times to serve on the Florida Supreme Court Judicial Nomination Commission (JNC), where five of the seven current sitting Justices of the Florida Supreme Court were appointed during Fred’s tenure. Additionally, Karlinsky serves as vice president of the board of directors of the Holocaust Documentation and Education Center (HDEC) in Hollywood, Florida. This year, he helped secure state funding for the museum to create two permanent, world-class educational exhibits.

A Florida native, Karlinsky’s leadership on numerous boards demonstrates his ongoing commitment to advancing legislative and policy priorities across multiple sectors. He serves as president of the board of trustees of the Florida Supreme Court Historical Society; vice chair of the board of directors of the World Trade Center Miami; audit chair on Leadership Florida’s board of directors; Orange Bowl Committee member; and on the board of directors of Global Indemnity Group (GBLI). Additionally, Karlinsky has been an adjunct professor of law at Florida State University College of Law since 2008, where he currently chairs the board of visitors.
