Todd Basile is a registered patent attorney with over a dozen years combined experience in the legal and engineering industries.
Todd’s practice focuses on helping technology companies protect and commercialize their innovations across a wide range of industries, including wearable robotics, medical devices, autonomous vehicles, nanotechnology, and aerospace technologies. He also represents technology investors in M&A deals, negotiates IP licenses and technology development agreements, and assists clients in navigating intellectual property disputes.
Todd draws on several years of industry experience to deliver uniquely tailored strategies and services to his clients. Prior to becoming an attorney, he was a flight technology engineer at Bell Helicopter, where he co-authored a software program to evaluate rotorcraft mission performance and automate processes for sizing new rotorcraft designs. He also helped design a computerized vehicle management system and an electronic throttle control system for unmanned military aircraft at Smiths Aerospace (now GE Aviation Systems) during his undergraduate studies at Georgia Tech.
Todd particularly enjoys counseling dynamic early-stage companies in attracting seed investment, as well as helping universities commercialize cutting-edge technology research. He recently helped researchers at a world-renowned university secure a multimillion-dollar license for wearable robotics technology with medical rehabilitation applications. Prior to joining the firm, Todd practiced at an intellectual property boutique in Dallas, Texas, and clerked at St. Jude Medical’s Neuromodulation Division in Plano, Texas.
