Leonard Kim focuses his practice primarily on fund finance and structured finance, as well as private funds secondary transactions. He represents sponsor and fund borrowers, as well as institutional and private credit lenders, across a wide range of financing transactions. He also represents sponsors and lead investors in connection with continuation vehicle and GP stakes transactions. He is experienced in fund formation (both registered and private) and derivatives.
Leonard handles a broad spectrum of financing products, ranging from subscription facilities to NAV and hybrid financings, preferred equity, ABLs, margin loans, loan warehouses, total return swaps, repurchase facilities, professional partner loan programs, ManCo working capital facilities, GP and equity co-invest financings, GP stakes financings, rated note feeders and collateralized fund obligations. He also routinely advises clients on liquidity solutions and back-leverage structures, as well as other types of debt transactions such as loan participations, lending frameworks and synthetic risk transfers.
Leonard has been recognized by Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch for Banking and Finance Law. He is admitted to practice in New York and Massachusetts and is fluent in Korean.
