Leonard Kim focuses his practice primarily on fund finance, structured finance, and synthetic finance. He represents institutional and private credit lenders, on one hand, and private equity and private credit sponsors, registered funds and business development companies, on the other, across a wide range of financing transactions. He is also experienced in private and registered fund formation and derivatives.
Leonard handles a broad spectrum of financing products. His day-to-day work covers subscription facilities, NAV and hybrid financings, preferred equity financings, margin loans, loan warehouses, total return swaps, repurchase facilities, partner loan programs, management company working capital facilities, GP and equity co-invest financings, GP stakes transactions, rated note feeders, and collateralized fund obligations. He advises clients on back-leverage structures and liquidity solutions as well as club deals and lending frameworks.
Leonard has been recognized by Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch for Banking and Finance Law. He is admitted to practice in New York and Massachusetts and is fluent in English and Korean.
