3 Greenberg Traurig Attorneys Named ‘Top Lawyers’ by Vegas Inc

LAS VEGAS – July 1, 2022 –Shareholders Michael J. Bonner and Erica L. Okerberg and Of Counsel Tami D. Cowden, all in the Las Vegas office of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, are included in Vegas Inc’s Top Lawyers list for 2022. The three attorneys are on a select list of recommended lawyers in Clark County, Nevada, nominated by peers, clients, and the larger community for making an impact on the legal field, according to the publication.

Bonner is a managing shareholder of the Las Vegas office and concentrates his practice in the areas of corporate finance and governance, mergers and acquisitions, business transactions, securities, and gaming. He represents both publicly- and privately-held hotel-casino resort operators, manufacturers, suppliers, lenders and officers, directors, and key employees in transactional, licensing, and other approvals before the Nevada State Gaming Control Board and the Nevada Gaming Commission. Bonner also acts as outside counsel to boards of directors and special committees of boards of directors of publicly-held and privately-held entities.

Okerberg, who leads the firm’s Nevada Gaming Practice, advises clients on a wide array of gaming law matters, including licensing and regulatory work, sweepstakes, promotional law, and social gaming. She represents land-based and online casino companies, sports wagering operators, manufacturers, and distributors, as well as other companies providing services to the gaming industry. She also has wide-ranging experience with analyzing and structuring social games, skill-based contests, and sweepstakes. Okerberg is also on the executive committee of the Gaming Law Section of the Nevada Bar and serves as co-editor of the Nevada Gaming Lawyer.

Cowden has more than 30 years’ experience as an appellate attorney. She represents parties in complex business and employment litigation matters in state and federal trial courts and has handled dozens of appellate cases before the Nevada Supreme Court and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Cowden was the founding chair of the Nevada State Bar’s Appellate Litigation Section, and before joining the firm, she was a faculty member at the University of Denver College of Law. Cowden also served as a staff attorney with the Colorado Court of Appeals.
