Greenberg Traurig’s Galit Kierkut Elected NJ LEEP Board Member

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. – Nov. 14, 2022  Galit Kierkut, a Labor & Employment and Litigation shareholder in global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP’s New Jersey office, was elected as a board member of the New Jersey Law and Education Empowerment Project (NJ LEEP).

NJ LEEP’s mission is to empower middle and high school students in the Newark area of New Jersey with both the academic and social-emotional skills necessary to succeed in college and beyond. Greenberg Traurig New Jersey and Kierkut have partnered with NJ LEEP for many years, including hosting students for the summer Week on the Job Program for incoming high school sophomores, participating in mentoring events throughout the year, and sponsoring its fundraising efforts. 

Kierkut is a strong advocate for women’s advancement in law and has been honored for her leadership in this area by a variety of organizations. She is a past president of the New Jersey Women Lawyers Association and is an active member of the National Association for Women Lawyers. Kierkut also co-chairs Greenberg Traurig New Jersey’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee, which engages in active programming for Greenberg Traurig lawyers, staff, clients, and the New Jersey legal community.

“It is an honor to have been selected to join the board of this incredible organization that has supported so many students and families in New Jersey, and I am looking forward to continuing to make meaningful contributions to its work both personally and with the support of Greenberg Traurig,” Kierkut said.

Kierkut is a seasoned litigator and advisor to national and international clients in the pharmaceutical, bio-tech, fin-tech, financial services, hospitality, and health care industries, among others. She also takes on the role of outside general counsel for many of her startup and growth-stage clients, assembling and leading teams of professionals to seamlessly address her clients’ legal needs.

Kierkut focuses her litigation and counseling practice in the areas of restrictive covenants and trade secret counseling and litigation, as well as in matters relating to employment discrimination, harassment, whistleblowing, employee leave, and accommodation.
