GARDEN CITY, N.Y. – July 16, 2026– Nicole L. Weingartner, a director in the Government Law & Policy Practice of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, has been appointed to the Leadership Council of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island (BBBSLI), a nonprofit dedicated to creating and supporting one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth.
The BBBSLI Leadership Council comprises business and community leaders from across Long Island who serve as advocates for the organization’s mission through community engagement, strategic partnerships, fundraising, and outreach, helping to ensure that more children have access to caring adult role models.
Weingartner, who sits in the firm’s Long Island office, provides strategic advocacy support to clients navigating state government relations, representing nonprofit organizations, trade associations, and government entities in budgetary, legislative, and regulatory matters. She draws on her experience serving in the New York State Senate and the New York State Assembly to help clients with complex legislative and budget processes. She also serves as vice president of the AHRC Suffolk Foundation’s board of directors and as a co-founder of Her Long Island Influence, a Long Island women’s networking group.

The organization serves hundreds of children annually across Nassau and Suffolk counties through its community-based and site-based mentoring programs, at no cost to families.
