Jennifer Tomsen focuses on litigation, including commercial and securities litigation in state and federal courts and securities arbitrations before the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and JAMS. She has defended broker-dealers in customer-member and member-member disputes, employment, and regulatory matters, and has represented clients in a wide variety of commercial disputes.

  • Jennifer Tomsen is coordinating a matter for a national client in which Greenberg Traurig attorneys in multiple offices around the country provide daily updates in their jurisdictions as to COVID-19 developments and respond to specific queries about the impact of COVID-related developments and directives on the client’s business. 
  • Represented major broker-dealers and other securities industry participants in numerous arbitration hearings before the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (formerly the National Association of Securities Dealers and the New York Stock Exchange) and JAMS.
  • Represented broker-dealers in employment matters, including gender, race, and disability discrimination, U-5 defamation, and constructive discharge.
  • Successfully defended major healthcare company in independent contractor misclassification FLSA collective action.
  • Successfully defended record company in cases under Copyright Act, with multiple rulings upheld on appeal.
  • Defeated on appeal city’s claim of governmental immunity in multimillion dollar contract litigation.
  • Successfully defended project management company in AAA arbitration against claims for breach of contract and fraud.
  • Represented investment firms in scores of customer arbitrations involving allegations of research analyst conflicts of interest.
  • Represented a major investment firm in significant cases involving stock options brought by former WorldCom employees.
  • Represented major investment firms in customer arbitrations involving a variety of securities, including high-yield bond funds, corporate bonds, and preferred stocks.
