Elliot Anderson is a member of the Appeals & Legal Issues and Litigation Practice in Greenberg Traurig's Las Vegas office. He has been involved with cases in many areas of law, including consumer bankruptcy, complex commercial litigation, criminal law, general civil law, HOA superpriority litigation, and post-conviction collateral review. Elliot’s practice focuses on multiple industries, including aviation, banking, financial services, and health care.

Elliot is also an experienced appellate advocate who has represented clients, in all industries, throughout Nevada. He also works with clients and trial teams in resolving business and contract disputes, and other issues of importance to his clients. 

In addition, Elliot has a substantial administrative law and regulatory practice given his extensive experience in, and deep understanding of, all parts of Nevada government. Elliot served the public as an Assemblyman in the Nevada Legislature from 2010-2018, and before that time, on active duty in the United States Marine Corps from 2001-2005. Elliot has clerked at both the Nevada Supreme Court and at the Eighth Judicial District Court of Nevada, which primarily handled business matters.

Experience

  • Participated in trial team preparation and supported trial team that obtained a complete defense verdict for client Sbarro, LLC in an employment harassment case after a two-week federal jury trial in the U.S. District Court for the District of Nevada.
  • Represented transportation company in high stakes, high dollar personal injury action and received a settlement.
  • Represented special events and effects company in business torts case against former employees who violated covenant not to solicit employees and compete and obtained $1.3 million dollar judgment (including punitive damages award).
  • Represented international pharmaceutical company in products liability case involving over 900 separate plaintiffs and obtained an order granting complete summary judgment as to all claims, based on an extension of law in Nevada.
  • Represented insurance company in regulatory litigation against a state government and immediately obtained the insurance company relief after initiating litigation.
  • Obtained published opinion creating new generally applicable appellate procedure law, on behalf of a casino in the Nevada Court of Appeals, affirming dismissal of claims on all grounds asserted.
  • Represented high-net-worth businessman in an appeal from enforcement of settlement agreement and a separate cross-appeal from order denying attorneys’ fees award and obtained an affirmance of the businessman’s enforcement of settlement agreement and a reversal of order denying the businessman attorneys’ fees.
  • Represented large entertainment business in original writ proceeding where non-class members sought to intervene in a $5 million dollar class action settlement to disrupt the settlement and obtained denial of petition for writ of mandamus.
  • Represented large entertainment business in $5 million dollar class action appeal and successfully obtained an affirmance against objecting class members who sought to reverse approval of the settlement.
  • Represented a Nevada health care provider in a high stakes original writ proceeding before the Nevada Supreme Court and secured writ of mandamus on all grounds asserted in petition for writ of mandamus.
  • Represented multiple trusts in appeal from an order granting partial summary judgment in a dispute involving membership interests in a Nevada company and obtained a complete affirmance.
