John “JR” DiCioccio represents clients on land use and zoning matters, general real estate transactions, industrial development agency (IDA) and municipal benefits, and all related litigation. He represents developers as well as individuals in all facets of the development approval process before municipal boards in both Nassau and Suffolk Counties.

JR previously served as Town Attorney for the Town of Islip, New York. During his tenure as Islip Town Attorney, JR was the Chief Legal Officer for the Town of Islip serving as Counsel to the Town Board, Planning Board, Zoning Board of Appeals, and Industrial Development Agency. As Town Attorney, JR was intimately involved in the Town’s land use process, was responsible for defending the Town in all federal and state litigation including defense of Article 78 proceedings and handled all real estate transactions and leasing involving Town property. JR also previously maintained a private practice representing clients in residential and commercial real estate transactions and leasing, land use applications before municipal boards outside the Town of Islip and all related litigation.

Working as a Town Attorney on Long Island for New York’s third largest township has provided JR with an intimate understanding of the intricacies of local laws and processes needed to practice land use on Long Island.
